My Steampunk Hat.


“Take off your hat," the King said to the Hatter.

I created two 12"x 12" pages using photos of the Steampunk Hat that I made.

 I painted the chipboard and letters black and then when they were dry, I added gold acrylic paint with a fan brush.

TECHNIQUES
 


Background made with mists, stencils, stamps and ink.

 

  Hint: I pour my mists over in smaller mister bottles and dilute them with Alcohol. I attach the small misters to the bottles with elastics. Caution: When working with alcohol, make sure you are in a well ventilated area.

 I used a photo of my grandfather Jan Smit seated and an unknown gentleman. 
The photo was taken Circa 1930 possibly in Clanwilliam, Cape Provence, South Africa.

Tricycles.


One of my earliest memories as a child was playing with my friends and our red Tri-ang Tricycles. I was 5 years old in the photos where I have the short pony tail.

Bathing Beauties.

 

 I scrap-booked two 12" x 12 " pages using photos of my mother and her family.  I have scrap-booked these photos before as I love them so much and I wanted to do them justice. I did the previous layout over 8 years ago, hopefully I have improved on it ;-)

I created one 12" x 12" scrapbook page using a photo of my dad and one of he's pen-pals. He had many pen-pals with which he exchanged letters, postage stamps, postcards, etc. You can see more of he's postcards here. I scrapbooked one 12" x 12" photo of my husband's aunt when she was about 16 years old.

My inspiration was "Sweet Memories" by Rebecca Carter from the Book "Scrapbooking Baby's Cherished Moments" by Rebecca Carter.

 

I used hatpins which I made with wire and beads.


I made a Monogram D with beads and wire. I have included more information on the tags.
