I am wearing my Voodoo hat and holding my Spells book, which I made. The original background was removed using the free Photoroom app.
I replaced it with a cobweb wallpaper which I found online.
I am holding a walking stick which a friend made. I opened the wallpaper in Gimp, a free image editor, after selecting the transparent background image in the Photoroom app. I also launched Gimp, picked my PNG image, and pasted it on top of the wallpaper.

The skull jewellery is plastic and from the dollar store. The Voodoo doll was a thrift store find.

I measured the the placement of brads and letters with a pencil and ruler to the front of an old book. I attached the chip-board letters and grungeboard with hot glue I removed the hot-glue tendrils with a tweezer. I attached brads on the one side.
I removed protruding pieces on the skeleton by using pliers.
I made the holes for the brads with a paper piercer and used a scoring tool to make them bigger. I attached the plastic skeleton's head to the back with a brad and hot-glue.
The brads are secured on the inside of the book with photo mounting squares.
Front of the book painted black and left to dry.
Back of the book Painted black and waited to dry. You can speed up the drying time with a hairdryer I glued a part of the skeleton to the spine of the book I painted it black and left it to dry.
I started dry-brushing the brads, letters and grunge-board with gold metalic paint and attached a piece of tattered gauze with modge podge. The props are from a dollar-store.
I added dry-brushing with gold metalic acrylic to the skull and glued gauze to the back as well. Let it dry.

Note: The first book I tried to use had a gloss surface, so the paint scratched off. Hopefully Gesso would prevent that from happening.
I created one 12″ x 12″ scrapbook page using a photo of a ballet group dance I was in as a teenager. You can read more about the photo here. My inspiration for the layout was "Happy Hauntings" by Leica Forrest from the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, Fall 2008.
Close up of the coffin tags and tombstones. My inspiration for the coffins were Coffin Treat set by Debra Wabbe from the Papercrafts Sept/Oct 2013 magazine. The white tags have more information about the photo. I used black wool for the tags, the Brads were brass colored, but I painted them with black nail polish. I colored white gauze with black die for the background. A smaller copy of the certificate is tucked behind the photo. I used a small foam stamp for the bat.

I try to tidy up my table before I start on a new layout, the Iris® Scrapbook Case is on the left, my most used supplies are on the table and my Råskog with more supplies is on my left.
I used an alphabet stencil, ink and eye-shadow applicator for the title, I painted the purple spiderweb Halloween mesh white for the tag. The ghost was made using a foam stamp and white ink.
The evening we had dinner with friends in Cochrane, we went early and took some photos of Halloween decorated houses. Canyon Rose, where we have been before was also decorated and the waiters also wore costumes.
The day of Halloween was still lovely Chinook weather, with no snow on the ground. We went to Market mall, where hundreds of kids go Trick or Treating, from one store to the next, in the warmth and safety of the mall. There were clowns and some adults also wore costumes. I enjoyed it very much; we took many pics of happy kids (some tired)
Market Mall has recently been renovated and is now the mall with the most shops in Calgary, (over 200) although the Chinook Mall is the largest in area. There is a large play area, where you can register your kids; I think it is to prevent people from taking the wrong child out.
Our first Halloween, I didn't know what to expect. Did I have enough Candy? How did I react to "Trick or treat" ?
But, it all turned out well, with a rush of hundreds of happy children in cute costumes. Even adults in costumes.
