Roadtrip 2024

 Banff National Park gate.

“…a wildlife corridor is a protected route that allows wildlife to move safely between areas of suitable habitat. In the Banff area, corridors are typically narrow, funnel-shaped tracts of land between the developed areas and the steep mountain slopes.” –Parks Canada.

We left Calgary, Alberta, Canada on a cold rainy day. We drove via Banff National Park.  The photos were taken through the car’s windscreen.

Entrance to Radium Hot Springs Village, British Columbia Canada,

"The village of Radium Hot Springs lies at the southern entrance to Kootenay National Park. The hot pool facilities are located in Sinclair Canyon, just a couple of minutes inside the park boundary. People come here not only for the hot springs but also for the excellent golf courses in the area. Radium Hot Springs also offers many hiking opportunities, whitewater rafting adventures and scenic floats." - Kootenay Rockies.

We camped for two nights at Dry Gulch Provincial Park near Radium Hot Springs Village. We have camped there before you can see the post here.

Who's a good boy? Erik is a good boy.

The view of the mountains from our campsite. “This cozy campground park is a quiet and shady retreat from a sunny and vibrant tourism area. Located on the east side of the Rocky Mountain Trench under the peaks of the Stanford Range, Dry Gulch Park is 4.5km south of the town of Radium Hot Springs off Highway 93/95. It is a perfect resting place for travellers.” –B.C. Parks

We visited Lussier Hot Springs near White Swan Lake Park and  Bugaboo Provincial Park. (Photos and information coming soon.)

Lussier Hot Springs is one of British Columbia’s most beautiful and serene hot spring destinations located between Canal Flats and Whiteswan Lake in the East Kootenays of south eastern BC. The four hot spring pools have been naturally constructed right beside Lussier River using stones and boulders and are easily accessible via Whiteswan Forestry Road“- Lussier Hot Springs "The temperatures of the pools vary from as hot as 47°C (118°F) down to around 34°C (94°F). Many visitors love to get hot and toasty in the hot pools and then cool off in the frigid waters of Lussier River and back into the heat again. Lussier Hot Springs are 100% natural and 100% free and are typically open and accessible year round. There is a change room and toilet located at the parking lot right off the road. From the parking lot and change rooms, it is a short 5 minute walk down to the hot springs via a well maintained path." - Lussier Hot Springs
