Camping off the grid.

Camping off the grid

We had a great time on our first off-the-grid camping trip this year. It wasn't overly hot or cold, and the weather was ideal. It was almost bug-free. As usual, we were also visited by wild horses, which we love.

Off-the-grid camping.

Erik ran laps around the area, giddy with excitement at seeing the location. Erik and my spouse took pleasure in quadding while I read craft books. We stood in our favourite spot, which was quite a distance from the other rigs.

A few spots of snow and some higher-lying snowdrifts could still be seen.

"The most common types of off-grid camping are boondocking on public lands, primitive camping, and dry camping. Although they overlap, they do have some specific differences that are important to keep in mind." - We roam away from home.

Note: A Public Lands Camping Pass is required to random camp on public land along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.

We discovered an animal cemetery a few kilometres from where we were. I believe that's where the roadkill is disposed of.

Since there are no lights inside the Jayco's bathroom, we recently installed motion-activated LED strip lights, which are excellent.
