Elbow Falls, 2.2000

On Sunday we went to Kananaskis. There were many people as it was another wonderful day. They were cross- country skiing, sledding down hills, skating and playing hockey on the lake, ice-fishing, having barbecues etc. We forgot to take the sled, food or skates. We walked on the river, only where tracks were as it is so scary.

Apparently you can skate on ice that is 6 inches thick. Where the water broke through you could see the ice was more than a foot thick. It trickled through globules of icicles.
I fell once on an icy patch. Some clever people had their dogs pulling them on the ice either on skates or the kids in sleds.

The most beautiful was the Elbow Falls. Parts of it are frozen, it looks just like stalactites. The paths were very slippery, parts were closed, but many people climbed over the barrier for a better view. At least we took the camera. I fell again, no wonder I am always sore.
