Nakusp.

After we left New Denver we drove to Nakusp, British Columbia, Canada. We stayed three nights at Nakusp Municipal Campground.

We highly recommend Nakusp Municipal Campground, which has charming hosts, firepits, spacious clean hot showers, free Wi-Fi, a sani dump, and fresh water. The campground is very pet friendly, with lots of shade, and within walking distance to the public beach, promenade and the town centre.

.

It was very hot, it even reached 30 Degrees Celsius one day, fortunately, we could relax in our hammocks under the tree at our campsite.

A squirrel at our campsite.

The Nakusp Rail Society display is within walking distance from Nakusp Municipal Campground.

"You’re on the former site of the Nakusp and Slocan Railway, an integral part of the region’s history. The Nakusp Rail Society preserves and presents this history on a downtown property close to where the original railroad operated. When Canadian Pacific Railway (CP Rail) donated a 1977 caboose and a 1921 snow plow to the Village of Nakusp in 2016, the Society formed to act
as stewards of the historical equipment." - Stories Out Trust

The beautiful beach is within walking distance from Nakusp Municipal Campground.

A Robin at the beach.

"The yellow, sandy beach has a shaded, grassy area, beachball volleyball court, floating-dock waterslide, roped-off swimming area, and washrooms. There’s also a playground across the street." - Play Outside Guide

The Nakusp Waterfront Japanese Garden Entrance is within walking distance from Nakusp Municipal Campground.

"You haven’t really seen Nakusp if you don’t take time to stroll down the waterfront promenade and take in the views across the Upper Arrow Lake towards Saddleback Mountain." - Arrow Lake News.

"Anchored by the Nakusp Marina and Nakusp Beach, this paved level stroll takes you past the Spicer Garden, the Japanese Garden and the historic Leland Hotel, the oldest continually-operating hotel in B.C." -Arrow Lake News.

It was lovely and cool walking through the Japanese Garden.

"The Nakusp Waterfront Walkway is a paved pathway extending one kilometre (3280 ft) along the top of a steep embankment above Arrow Lake in Nakusp, British Columbia. This historic place includes the walkway, memorial benches, trees and gardens and an engineered soil/cement wall extending from the walkway to the lake." - Historical Places

We had an ice-cold beer and great service on the patio at the Three Lions Pub.

The Three Lions Pub is very pet friendly.

“Nakusp’s settlement history begins in 1892 when the town site was put up for sale by the Rand Bros. – 25’ lots sold for as much as $300 each. Speculation was that Nakusp would become a mining town.” – The Village of Nakusp
