Birthday Girl

We went shopping for our son's girlfriend's Birthday, mostly at the Asian Mall, where we had Bubble or Pearl Tea, which is very popular in Taiwan. There are many flavors but basically it is a cold fruit “smoothie” with large colored Tapioca. The fun is that you drink it through a large straw, so that the Tapioca can go into your mouth. I had Green Tea flavor. You can buy the ingredients at the Mall. For supper we went to “Treasures of China” for an all you can eat Buffet, where the sushi is great, but they didn’t have frog’s legs. We rubbed the tummy of a large Buddha statue.
If you visit Taiwan or Hong Kong you can't help but notice the unique bubble teashops on every corner. Bubble Tea to Taiwan is what coffee or soda is to the U.S. One would think Bubble Tea is the national drink by its popularity.
