Monster Jam
We went to the Pengrowth Saddledome for a Monsterjam. The Pengrowth is a large indoor arena and it was packed. Some kids had Protective earphones. They sold earplugs for $2, programs, food, flags of the different teams, beer etc. A Channel, our local TV station was there, the whole show is broadcast on a big overhead screen. Before the show started, they asked us to cheer for 1 minute, so that we can win as the loudest crowd and get on the CD of the show. They put the lights out and had rolling floodlights; people had green torches which they waved. We stood for the American anthem, a first for us, as some of the trucks were from the US. I enjoyed it very much. It is incredible to think a few days before they played Ice hockey in the arena, then they melt it, bring in tons of sand, make hills and then after the show, remove it again and ice up the arena again. The announcer calls the centre of the arena, center ice.
